This RAID array comes with two 12 TB drives installed. The drives are formatted to APFS for use with Mac OS and iPad OS by default, but can be formatted for use with Windows or Linux. The Array is preconfigured to RAID 1, which is a mirror of the drives giving full redundancy in case one of the drives fail. This gives you 12 TB of useable storage. The array can also set to RAID 0 for greater speeds, full 24 TB of storage, but no data redundancy. The drives connect by a Thunderbolt 3 USB-C cable. There is a Pro-Blade slot on the unit, but does not come with a Pro-Blade drive. The Pro-Blade slot allows for transfer rates of up to 1000 MB/s, which allows you to work directly off the drive rather than as a backup.
This item was purchased new at Microcenter and has not been used.
