As shown. See all photos. Etching belonged to my late mother. Can’t know for sure if this was passed down or purchased. Based on the back I’m leaning towards latter. Haunting and mesmerizing piece. Wish I had better photos. Reflections and shadows are a killer. Can try again… 16.25” x 14.25” x .75” handsome frame.

“Léon Richeton (Birmingham, 1854–1934) was an etcher, etched landscapes, and copied works by other artists, such as Sir Thomas Lawrence and Gainsborough.“

“David Law (Scotland, 1831–1901/2) was a watercolour painter and etcher. He was the father of the watercolour landscape painters Annie and Beatrice Law. Law, who specialised in landscape painting, studied at the Trustees Academy in Edinburgh 1845–1850.”

“David Law. Whitby Harbour, Yorkshire. Antique Etching on laid paper after the original by master etcher Leon Richeton 1879. Signed in the plate center (where?). Excellent. This piece has been professionally matted and framed using all new materials.”
