This is a pair of Vintage M. Klein and Sons 8" Diagonal Cut Pliers, model 228-8. (Marked "M. Klein and Sons, Chicago U.S.A.", and mfd. not long before the company started going by Klein Tools.) A nice, well-made vintage pair of cutting pliers! Good condition, with the dipped red handle grips complete and fully intact. Some staining to the brushed metal surfaces, but no rust. Completely and fully functional.
They have been in storage in my Grandfather's toolbox for a long time. They were likely used for around 10 years. That explains the relatively good condition this 55-year-old pair of pliers is in. They have the date code MCP, which translates to 1st quarter of 1970.
