These seed pods come from a floating aquatic plant native to Asia and are quite rare in the U.S. However, I discovered them in upstate New York. Known as bat nuts or devil pods due to their spiky, dark, and somewhat sinister appearance, they are believed to be highly effective in banishing negative energies, spirits, and harmful influences. Like the evil eye, they are thought to ward off malevolent forces.
