This is a Hmong story cloth, a form of textile art created by the Hmong people, an ethnic group from Southeast Asia. Hmong story cloths emerged in refugee camps after the Secret War in Laos (part of the Vietnam War), as a way for Hmong women to narrate their experiences of war, forced migration, and daily life, and to generate income.

These cloths are characterized by intricate embroidery depicting figurative scenes, often including details of agricultural practices, village life, and historical events, alongside traditional Hmong motifs. This particular cloth depicts the daily life in Laos growing and harvesting food such as fruit, corn, beans and chickens.

This cloth is in excellent condition. The embroidery is intricate and in tact. The colors vibrant. This wall art includes a stark white cotton backing.

It measures 51”x36”

This comes from a clean, smoke free and pet free home.
