Upcycled Merrell Women’s hiking boots size 9 custom designed and very well made! Each sneaker is incredibly unique and has a different color combo adorned in repurposed laces.

I’m a size 8/8.5 and this fits me perfectly. A true size 9 could be a little snug.

Upcycling creates the framework for innovation — whether that be through the lens of patterns, materialization, or overall story. Utilizing parts and pieces from the abundance of samples we have laying around the office I wanted to focus on a piece that is often overlooked— the lace. Though simple in form and shape the complex process it takes to make a lace is often disregarded. In an odd sense a lace is relatively timeless. Older seasons laces don’t stand out as dated or show indication of a specific season but rather act as a common tool for footwear. The idea of utilizing laces as an upper isn’t a new concept, but the act helps demonstrate how upcycling and sustainability can be applied.
