Authentic vintage Japanese indigo cotton maekake apron featuring advertising for Tomiyasu Sake Brewery, likely dating from the 1950s–1970s.

Maekake aprons have been used in Japan since the Edo period and were traditionally worn by shopkeepers, brewers, and craftsmen. Made from thick, durable cotton canvas, they were tied tightly at the waist and commonly used for both workwear and advertising.

This example features printed text on both front and back, with deep indigo color showing natural aging and character typical of vintage Japanese textiles.

Material: Indigo-dyed cotton
Origin: Japan

Size: Approx. 18" x 28"

Condition:
Good vintage condition with light wear consistent with age. No major holes or structural damage. Print remains clear on both sides. Please review photos for details.

A great piece for collectors of Japanese folk textiles, indigo dye, or sake brewery memorabilia.
