DOGS OF BAHLOO-
"Illustrates the story of the Dogs of Bahloo. Bahloo the Moon had three snakes which were tame and playful while with him but fierce and poisonous to the Aboriginals. He called these snakes his "dogs". Late one night the moon descended on earth and asked some Aborigines to carry his dogs across a stream, but the Aborigines were afraid to do so and disobeyed his request.
Since that time, as a punishment, the Aborigines stay dead once they die and cannot be reborn, like the moon, every night. The Aborigines kill all the snakes they find, but there will always be snakes, because the moon sends new snakes to replace the ones that have been killed. The moon is portrayed here as a Wandajina and his three snakes"
