So this is a special one! I won this in an estate auction in Maine where there is a long history of French immigrants.
This tapestry was made in France (you can see the mark on the back of the tapestry) in the late 1800's to early 1900's. The back threading shows signs of a hand loom.
It is 18inches x 18 inches, it was stored in a drawer so the colors are preserved. I took a photo of it in three different kinds of light so that you could see what it looks like in natural light (Photo #2) indoor light (Photo #1) at night with lamplight (#3)
This is all cotton thread. I think there might be some fading because of the back of the tapestry, the colors are very bold.
