This vintage promotional stoneware pitcher from the Old Sleepy Eye line was produced for the Sleepy Eye Milling Company of Sleepy Eye, Minnesota and marked Sesquicentennial 1981 Limited Edition. The pitcher is approximately 5 tall, with an opening diameter of about 3.25 and a base diameter of about 4.25. It features a tan body with brown printed detailsincluding a profile of Chief Sleepy Eye on one side and the text Monmouth Illinois Born of the Prairie on the other. The pitcher weighs approximately 1.10 oz. Designed as a premium giveaway item for the milling company, this piece is a charming example of Americana promotional pottery.
