This an original vintage movie window card for the classic musical comedy “Gentlemen Prefer Blondes” that was displayed in movie theater box offices. The film starring Marilyn Monroe, Jane Russell, & Charles Coburn, was directed by the legendary Howard Hawks (“Scarface”, “Bringing Up Baby”, “His Girl Friday”, “To Have & Have Not”, “Ball of Fire”, “Red River” & “Rio Bravo”) & written by Charle Lederer. The film is filled with comedic situations & musical numbers. Monroe's rendition of "Diamonds Are a Girl’s Best Friend" & her pink silk satin dress are part of popular culture & are considered iconic. In fact, the performance has inspired & been recreated by various artists as an homage to the star.
