“Going Home Barbie” is a gift to adoptive families who stay at the White Swan Hotel. Apparently, during the duration of your stay, Barbie will magically appear on your pillow. The doll has been issued on a donation basis from Mattel since 2001.
This souvenir Barbie doll was presented by Mattel (HK) LTD. to adopting parents of Chinese orphan children staying at the White Swan Hotel, Gaungzhou, China. Blonde, blue-eyed Barbie is wearing a short tiered multi-colored dress accented with a cream with gold threading belt. Matching short sleeves bordello jacket and dark pink shoes. She is carrying her adoptive child.
This is a really unique collector's doll!
Box has been opened to be photographed but doll is still attached to the cardboard insert as seen in pictures. Doll and baby are in mint condition. The top of the box has a couple crinkles and the upper left corner plastic has a small crease. No date is listed on the box.
