Antique Jean Pouyat Limoges France Oriental Birds Chinoiserie Covered Bowl

Pretty lidded serving bowl from the Jean Pouyat pattern know as Oriental Birds. The Limoges Pouyat China Factory, established 1842, made high quality hand painted decorated and white undecorated porcelain pieces. This documented but rare pattern, hand painted with heron-like birds, Asian vases and chrysanthemums, exemplified the Chinoiserie style that was popular in the early 20th century. Nice true red detailing at edges and handles. 10” across at handles, 4.5” high. Made in Limoges France. Marked with both backstamps. Very little wear to pattern. No chips, cracks or crazing.
