Shelley England Melody Chintz Fine Bone China Set Green Trim - England. Tall tea/coffee pot with five teacups and saucers in the beautiful 'Melody' pattern ca. 1938-1966. (This set is most likely from later production years as the earlier pieces were pottery.) Mint green transfer ware with lovely chintz florals in pink burgundy, yellow and blue. This set is trimmed in mint green on the cup, saucer and teapot rims. Shelley production stopped in 1965.
Estate sale find sold 'as found'; great vintage condition. No chips or cracks; slight tea stain on bottom interior and strainer holes. Scattered peppering on interior of cups and teapot spout. Hand painted rims. Stamped Shelley Made in England Fine Bone China with Melody colored stamp on underside.
Pease consider all measurements approximate - tea/coffee pot 7.75"H to lid finial; teacup on saucer 2.25" H, 2.25" upper rim dia.
Lovely for the collector or for a spot of tea.
