Luthier - a maker of string instruments (new word I learned from guitarist in my life!)
This is a mold/press to make a violin. The screws on the side open and close to tighten/open the press. Made of solid wood but not sure what type of wood.
There are screw hoops on top to add a ribbon to display. Right now, there’s a not-so-attractive rope, but it’s a beautiful piece.
Great, unique piece for musician and/or music lover.
