A true antique heirloom piece created by the prestigious HF Barrows jewelry company out of Massachusetts. They began in the 1850s making watch chains (note the trademark swivel clasp on the chain), but pivoted to other types of jewelry after WWI when pocket watches fell out of favor. They ceased production in 1971.
This stunning estate necklace is a wonderful example of the jubilant style of the Roaring Twenties era. The heart pendant is double sided with dozens of emerald and pale green prong set rhinestones. Green crystals with an aurora sheen separate sections of the brass chain.
The condition is very good for a hundred year old necklace. All stones present, with only a few darkening slightly. Not noticeable when wearing. Crystals are excellent. Patina has been left as is. Clasp works well, jewelry makers mark present.
Overall, an amazingly rare find!
