This is a beautiful and sustainably-crafted blue and white 5x7" Moorish/Damask style handmade frame. It would coordinate well with Traditional, Bohemian and Coastal decor.
The frame was never used and it's outside dimensions are 6"x8"
The front of the frame is made from polished buffalo bone. The back is pine and MDF wood. Instead of glass, there is an ultra-transparent Acrylic Plexiglass with the protective wrap still attached.
The frames are intended to give craftsman in India an alternative to the government-banned ivory and ebony trades.
The Indian government provides the buffalo bone material to rural artisans who hand carve the front design and assemble the frames by hand.
This program gives rural households the means of sustainable living and encourages rural regeneration, development.
