This is a unique piece of California winery history no longer an operation. Mont Rouge Wines was in Livermore California and in operation in the late 1800s when this opener is most likely from.

THE Mont- Rouge Vineyard was planted by the well-known wine expert Mr. A. G. Chauche, in 1884. Its name was taken from the celebrated Mont Rouge in France, resembling the same in general style and principally in soils. Mont Rouge (Livermore) contains as tine an assortment of wines as there is in the state.
The location of the vineyard is on a sightly elevation within a mile of the town of Livermore.
The winery is so constructed for the best conveniences for the proper making and ageing of wines, a fact most important in the making of good wines, as the handling of properly fermented wines is the
