This offer is for a set of 6 rare and lovely antique salad plates crafted by Hermann Ohme, Silesia, Germany (or Poland?), who went bankrupt in 1930 during the Great Depression. The combination of backmarks (the letter O above a fancy letter H with Silesia below) indicate manufacture circa. 1900 to 1920. (Leading up to the Roaring 20s!) I found no occurrences of this pattern during my searches and must assume that it is rare. (The closest being Replacements code OHM124, which has a different rim pattern.) All somewhat different (likely hand painted), the primary patterns feature pink and yellow roses with green leaves and an ornate gold design around scalloped and slightly embossed rims.
These beautiful early century pieces are in good condition considering their age, with some wear from usage (utensil marks) and some wear in the glaze and underglaze around the rim, but there are no cracks, repairs, crazing, or stains and little bottom wear. Plate diameter is 8.25.”
