The original hand signed 1861 “Two Dollars” - “The State of North Carolina” note was issued from Raleigh, N.C.. The serial number “1700” was also hand inscribed. It has a plain back as is common for the period. The note was printed by “F.W. Borneman - Charleston S.C.”.

The original lead bullets were excavated from the Wilderness Battlefield near Fredericksburg, Virginia. They were all made in iron molds and would have used a paper cartridge. The .58 rifle was issued for the Springfield rifle and along with the .52 Sharps were Federal issue. The .44 Colt and .69 musket ball could have used by either side. The white patina is due to oxidation in the ground.

The hand made solid Oak frame is 9” x 12” (glass) in size. All of the frame and display work was done in our cabinet shop here in Fredericksburg, Virginia. The frame is ready to hang. The wire is recessed which allows the frame to rest flat back to the wall as in a museum mount.
