This vintage 1930’s Columbia Pictures publicity still photo (8 1/4” x 10”) of screen legend Gloria Swanson is in very good condition. Since this is an original 90 year old vintage still photo, it has minor corner wear and light creasing. It has some small marks primarily on the back of the photo or in white border area that were likely acquired through handling. It really is a striking image of Ms.Swanson who was known for wearing really wild outfits and exotic accessories in her movies. The tongue-in-cheek caption likely created by an MGM publicist for newspapers and magazines is attached to the back of this photo and reads: “”THE EFFECTIVENESS OF DRAPES on modern apparel is emphasized by Gloria Swanson, Columbia star, in this interesting arrangement of turquoise blue and flame.”
Gloria Swanson first achieved fame acting in dozens of silent films in the 1920s and was nominated 3 times for the Academy Award for Best Actress in 1928, 1929 and 1950.
