Very heavy RESTAURANT WARE
Good vintage condition - Some utensil marks and manufacturing marks under glaze. Bottom reads: "HOMER LAUGHLIN Genesee 2 (3?8?) N”
This is a very nice antique platter from the Homer Laughlin Company
It is marked on the bottom with the company marks and logo as well as 'Genesee' which was one of their patterns
The 2 3(8?) N refers to the date of manufacture, in this case 1913(18?) and the N being the factory location (Please see web capture photo on this information) the platter is 11 5/8 inches long and 8 5/8 inches wide. It is a plain white without decoration. there are no chips or cracks, but a fair amount “speckling” which I can find no information on. The surface shows evidence of knives and utensils being used.
Genesee is a very plain, solid shape which has no embossing. It?s hollow ware is smooth with graceful curves identical to the Niagara shape.
