Vintage 1940s Dress, Fit and Flare, Mercerised Cotton, Sheer Shoulders, UK 8, It's quite hard to date this dress accurately and it could well be 20s or 30s - the seams are not overlocked and the sequence of press studs and hooks and eyes date it reliable to pre-1950s. It's a type of mercerised and textured cotton with a sheer shoulder detail and guipre lace trim. Very full skirt. Slightly dropped waist. Very pretty and elegant dress - could have been a wedding dress. Unlined. Bust measures 34 inches. Waist measures 25 inches. Length from shoulder to hem measures 55 inches. Fastens with a row of alternating press studs and hook and loops to the sides. There is no stretch in the fabric so please check the measurements. Very good condition - there are a couple of very faint marks, a slightly rusty stain as photographed but this barely shows as there is so much fabric in the skirt.
